Printer Setup
Mac OSX
First make sure you are able to connect to ad2.digitec.local.
- Open Finder
- Use the keyboard shortcut
CMD+K, or go to the menuGo>Connect to Server. Enter a server address ofsmb://{USERNAME}@ad-2.digitec.local, where{USERNAME}is your username - e.g.smb://mmclin@ad-2.digitec.local - If prompted, connect as a Registered User with your username (used above) and your password.
- Enable save to keychain if you want
- You should be able to connect.
Setup HP Printer with CUPS on OS X
- Make sure HP drivers are installed
- Make sure You can log on to
AD-2 - Open a Terminal and enter
cupsctl WebInterface=yes(to hide it entercupsctl WebInterface=no) - In a web browser go to
http://127.0.0.1:631 - On the web page click on the
Administrationmenu tab - Click on the
Add Printerbutton - Select
Windows printer via spoolss - In the Connection field enter
smb://username:password@ad-2/HP%20Color%20LaserJet%202500%20PCL%205 -
username:passwordshould be the credentials to the Mac user account you are working under - Click
Continue - In the Name field enter the name you would like to printer to show in the Mac System Preferences
- Leave all else blank, click
Continue - In the Make select box select
HPand clickContinue - In the newly populated select box choose
HP Color LaserJet 2600, 1.6.0 ... - Click
Add Printer
